Sparrows Child and Youth Care Centre

Childcare

Sparrows Child and Youth Care CentreSparrows Child and Youth Care Centre was established in 2000 and is a registered non-profit organisation, dedicated to improving and empowering the lives of the orphans and vulnerable children in our community and further afield.  We are situated in a tiny town called Tarkastad in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.  The organisation is well-known and respected in its community.  It has a good reputiation in the community that we serve.  The organisation is affiliated to Child Welfare South Africa.

We apply sound management principles and good governance to enable effective service delivery to children in our care.  We render services relating to those problems which have been identified as the most pressing in the community, namely:

  • HIV/AIDS,
  • Substance Abuse,
  • Poverty,
  • Unemployment,
  • Family Violence,
  • Family Disintegration,
  • Teenage Pregnancy.

The Management Committee volunteer their time to assist in the running of the organisation as well as meeting once a month to discuss matters pertaining to the organisation.  They are representative of the community that we serve and ensure that our core values are adhered to: accountability, transparency and good governance.
