Missionary in Process: Tawnia Gaskill

Tawnia Gaskill

About Tawnia

Tawnia was born in Muncie, Indiana and grew up in Huntington. She is a licensed hairstylist and has enjoyed 33 years of work as an owner and a stylist. She has two adult daughters and four grandchildren.
In 2012 she was introduced to prison ministry and became a facilitator for a program call Bridges to Life. In 2015 she went on a mission’s trip to Mozambique, Africa where she met Rachel Helm-Jovo at Xai Xai Bible College. In 2018 Rachel invited her to come to Mozambique where she was able to visit a prison.

During that time she realized that this is what the Lord was calling her to do (Matthew 25). In 2020 and 2021, she volunteered at St. Joseph’s Mission, a women’s shelter in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She has also been volunteering for The Journey, which is a non-profit organization that gets homeless children off the street. She is looking forward to being a vessel for God to use in South Africa prison ministry.
